Increasing numbers of people are heading to France with the term "medical tourism" in mind. Ezra Klein's Washington POst article "Why an MRI costs $1,080 in America and $280 in France" notes that Americans spent an average of over $7,000 on health care, while the French average was just under $4,000.
Additionally, those traveling to France for medical procedures are not only limited to the necessary. They can go in for elective surgeries too. With well respected and trained doctors and hospital staff, France is the place to go for both medical and cosmetic procedures.
